The funny thing about curiosity

Curiosity, n. An objectionable quality of the female mind. The desire to know whether or not a woman is cursed with curiosity is one of the most active and insatiable passions of the masculine soul.  Ambrose Bierce

In all things big and small, one thing that would keep me going: curiosity. When curiosity is at its peak, I would ask out of the blue questions or Google my way to find the answers of what I am looking for. However, Google has its limited scope such as knowing the mind and heart of the matter, especially when its too personal, (a.k.a: past tense about your fiance).

Past is always a sensitive subject for him. Whatever happens in the past that brings out emotions, I have no right to say anything. When he tells me about his story, I like to listen and I love to listen. However, my listening skills is mix with mere curiosity that it always land me in trouble. I did not have a specific purpose why the topic resurfaced. It just that something pop out in my mind and it was related to people and geez all of the sudden, everything went ruckus. There’s the saying that goes, be careful what you’re asking for because it might send you flying to the dark side of the moon or you might ended up hitchhiking outside the rainbow.  I don’t know who said that but I think it’s true. It is too bad when you aren’t ready because questions you have asked might affect you emotionally. Worse part is you are taking it personally while your fiance is just doing the same thing you are doing with him. “How is it feel to be ask such questions?”, he will say. If you are not aware of what you are asking for, be careful. There are sensitive topics that your fiance doesn’t want to rekindle. One thing to consider too, reserve your curiosity when he is not tired from 40 hours of work. You might end up like a steam vegetables overcook for longer hours. Be careful what you are asking for, especially when your fiance has an Einstein or rocket scientist intellect, a mind that works wherever you apply it to. Another wise advice, talking after midnight is quite risky. Emotions are high and logic is below average. When you keep on pressing the subject of the past, his way of delving the roots why you get suddenly curios turn your heart into a bitter lemon.  You’ll end up the dumbest woman you have ever known because you can’t support your own curiosity and your emotion gets on the way. It might as well wise to end the subject with surrender and retreat. Because once you do, you will end having a good night sleep or even dreaming with flying stars and colors in the sky.

For me, things begin with superlative curiosity. I think life without curiosity is plane boring. Without curiosity, I think I will be the most boring person I have encountered on earth. What will happen to me when I stop learning, I think I would be dead by then.  Curiosity has its huge benefits. Brainiac, or clever people started their genius discovery with mere curiosity like Albert Einstein so I think curiosity is good. When it comes to relationship, curiosity is important because without it, how would you able to know the person you want to be with?

If a woman starts to get curios, there’s something in there. But interpreting curiosity with rumors or gossip,  that could be a bad thing.

“She had an immense curiosity about life, and was constantly staring and wondering.”  ― Henry James, The Portrait of a Lady

Curiosity is one of the forms of feminine bravery.  Victor Hugo

Without vanity, without coquetry, without curiosity, in a word, without the fall, woman would not be woman. Much of her grace is in her frailty. Victor Hugo

I have a certain curiosity for life that drives me and propels me forward.Rachel McAdams

The funny thing about me being curious is that I will interpret things on my own base from what I find out. I think, assuming that it is what it is can be a negative thing.  There’s  dark side of curiosity so be careful what you are curious about. Well, being open helps and being ready of you what you might find out is wise.

Write Me a Piece of Your Unwritten Story

Define memory. A past. An unwritten feelings and emotions cut through the heart and mind. Memory is a memorabilia of images and pictures of the past. Old letters, stationary of colors, hues and they are the sepia of the mind. They are memory of the mind. Others keep them and some people simply throw them away. The one who keep it treasure them but the one who throw it away is another story. Pages of smiling faces, black and white, neon colors create words to make a story.
